Designed for all skill levels, this competition-quality skate park at 1520 Rock Prairie Road is the newest feature of Southwood Athletic Park. Key features are a large pro-style flow bowl, a pool-type bowl and a long, linear street course that includes hundreds of feet of varying terrain and scalable elements. The lighted facility is mostly made of concrete, which is permanent and virtually maintenance-free. A shaded patio area is nearby for spectators.
The skate park was designed by Bleyl & Associates of Bryan in conjunction with Grindline, Inc., a specialty design firm based in Seattle, Wash. Construction was performed by JaCody, Inc. of College Station in association with SPA Skateparks of Austin.
